Bobby and I are originally from Amarillo, Texas. We lived in Springfield, Missouri almost 13 years then moved to Fort Worth, Texas where we resided for 7 years. Bobby’s job brought us to the Albuquerque area. His office is in Belen and we considered living in Los Lunas but decided against it at first. Our young realtor suggested that we check out this “active adult community” named Jubilee in Los Lunas. We asked her jokingly if she was calling us old then after spending several weeks looking all over the Albuquerque area and fighting the traffic we decided to drive around Los Lunas by ourselves to see what type of area and housing was available. We stumbled onto Jubilee (unknowingly) and after talking to Karen remembered it was the place our realtor told us about. We instantly fell in love with the homes and the people. This isn’t a group of old people it’s a group of fun loving people who are lots of fun and friendly! Anyway, the rest is history.
We still enjoy going to Albuquerque to “visit”. We love the walking trails, Old Town and going to Santa Fe to see all the art. Our favorite activity is hiking the mountain in our “backyard” as our grandson calls it. We also enjoy snow skiing in Santa Fe, the Sandia tram is always fun, and we would like to take a hot air balloon ride sometime in the future. We are also looking forward to the swimming pool Jubilee is building.
We really haven’t lived here long enough to have favorite restaurants but we really like Tuscanos in Albuquerque. We have eaten at Teofilos a couple of times and the Luna Mansion a couple of times and really enjoyed them as well.
We don’t know what our favorite activity is for Jubilee residents only because we’ve been too busy moving into our new home to go to very many of the socials. We think it is going to be hard to choose only one favorite activity because they’ve all been fun. It is the people that make them so fun! We look forward to making many close friends and enjoying all that Jubilee has to offer.
